Implicit Bias

While working at Urban Outfitters, I gave a talk to the Engineering Department that discussed implicit bias. I discussed what it was and gave specific historical examples of bias in coding and its harmful effects. I also discussed examples of bias at our company and offered several ways to help combat it.

After giving this talk, I was approached by several managers who asked to share it with other departments. My department also decided to implement all of the suggestions I had mentioned. The deck is available to view here.
